Many deliberations and decisions require systematic data on people’s experiences, feelings and opinions about your school. Based on principles of action research, plan a study you can implement this year. Decide what you want to learn, from whom and how. Learn how to craft good questions and how to design and conduct interviews or focus groups. Consider how to use the process of research to engage the school’s current and potential stakeholders and to uncover the complexity of views that exist within the system.
